Sunday, July 20, 2008: 10:00 am (Hopper): In October 1998, the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) was signed by President Clinton. Since that time, the DMCA was used to prevent free speech and reverse engineering. The DMCA offers patent-like protection although this is a copyright law. Many people have been adversely affected by the DMCA. Cases will be discussed and information regarding filing counter notifications will be presented.
